Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated

The short version: you can cancel any time, plans are paid one month or one year at a time, yearly plans can be refunded in full within 14 days, and we refund duplicate or failed charges within 5–7 business days. The details are below. UptimePilot is based in Hyderabad, India.

01Free trial

Every new workspace starts with a 7-day free trial. No card is needed and nothing is charged when it ends — monitoring pauses until you choose a paid plan, and your monitors and settings are kept. Please use the trial to make sure UptimePilot fits your needs before you pay.

02Cancelling

You can cancel at any time, without a cancellation fee:

  • Monthly and yearly plans are one-time payments that don't renew automatically, and nothing is ever charged automatically, so there is nothing to cancel: if you don't pay for the next period, your plan ends at the end of the period you paid for (plus a short grace period) and monitoring pauses until you renew. Your monitors and settings are kept.
  • Renewing is up to you: we email reminders before your plan ends, and you renew by paying again from the Billing page (owners and admins).

03Refunds

Because you can try the product free first, monthly payments are non-refundable, and we don't give partial or pro-rated refunds for unused days, downgrades, or cancelling mid-period — except in the cases below.

We will refund in full:

  • Yearly plans cancelled within 14 days — if you ask for a refund within 14 days of paying for a yearly plan (a new yearly plan or a yearly renewal), we refund the full amount and monitoring pauses until you choose a plan. After 14 days, yearly plans are non-refundable and we don't refund the unused months.
  • Duplicate charges — for example, if you were charged twice for the same period.
  • Failed or incomplete payments — money debited from your account where the payment didn't complete or your plan wasn't activated. These are usually reversed automatically; if one hasn't been, we will.
  • Where the law requires it, or where we decide at our discretion that a refund is fair (for example, a long outage caused by us).

04How to request a refund

Email [email protected] from the address on your account within 30 days of the charge, with:

  • your workspace name;
  • the payment ID from your payment receipt (it starts with pay_) or the invoice number from the Billing page;
  • the date and amount, and a short description of the problem.

We confirm receipt within 1–2 business days and tell you whether the refund is approved.

05Refund timeline

Approved refunds are issued through Razorpay to the original payment method within 5–7 business days of approval. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it can take a few more days to show on your statement. We can't refund to a different account or method. A credit note is issued against the original invoice.
